Information and Referral

Utilizing local and national resources to increase your independence, by finalizing creative solutions to your problems.

Peer Support

Learn from other people with disabilities through their problem-solving experiences and mutual support.

Independent Living Skills Training

Learn skills that will increase your independence at home, in the community, or when seeking employment. Skilled training available in health/wellness, finance management and basic computer knowledge.

Advocacy

Learn about your legal rights, civil rights, available benefits, and community accessibility. Learn to advocate for yourself and others. Learn to reduce barriers to your independence.

Mission Statement

"The mission of Sources for Community Independent Living Services (Sources) is to promote the independence of persons with disabilities by facilitating and supporting their full integration and participation in all aspects of community life."

SOURCES provides services, supports, and advocacy for persons with disabilities, their families, and the communities at large. Sources is dedicated to the Independent Living Philosophy and the concept of consumer-directed service delivery: each consumer has control of his or her life. All services and activities reflect this concept.

Statement of Values

SOURCES is dedicated to the following values and principles of service:

  • Assisting each consumer with consideration, concern and timely response;
  • Serving all persons with disabilites, regardless of type or severity of disability;
  • Developing a team of dedicated and competent staff and voluneteers, encouraging and rewarding their innovation and productivity;
  • Promoting self-help, self-advocacy, and peer involvement;
  • Promoting a full range of life experiences and choices for persons with disabilities;
  • Working cooperatively with other community organizations to avoid duplication of services, and to make available a comprehensive support system for persons with disabilities;
  • Promoting the concepts of equality and justice to further the intergration of persons with disabilities in society.

Other Services

Direct Assistance to Individuals

Sources provides consumers with accessible home modifcations and assistive technology and devices that are not covered by any other funding source.

Individual and Systems Advocacy

Sources provides information, support, and guidance to consumers and their families to ensure them equal rights.

SSA Benefits Counseling

For SSI and SSD beneficiaries interested in returning to work while protecting their income/medical benefits.

Sources is a 501 (c) (3) organization serving Benton, Carroll, Madison, and Washington Counties.

For more information on services available or to make a tax-deductible donation, please call (479) 442-5600. Sources also accepts donations of your used Durable Medical Equipment for its equipment loan closet. All donations are TAX DEDUCTIBLE.

Consultation: Sources provides consultation services and technical assistance to businesses on achieving compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Fair Housing Act.
